2018 T-shirt design for the incredible Philly-based hip hop duo Career Crooks

Zilla Rocca & Small Professor have a sort of light-hearted, neo-noir crime aesthetic, and I wanted to roll with that motif without falling into the obvious trap of relying on the usual go-to imagery (guns, knives, &c). While I was brainstorming, I tried to go for more of a “gentleman thief” angle, & I wound up on this lockpicking & safe-cracking concept.

I used a couple of different reference photos of lockpicks as the basis for the original vector artwork, creating a custom set emblazoned with the name.
