Midnite Labs
In 2016, I was contacted to design a logo for Midnite Labs, a website for music producers focused on crate digging, drum/sample kits & sound design tutorials.
In our original exchange, founder Jose Martinez told me he was “a sucker for circular, arcane designs”, which was exciting because I feel the same way. I wanted to combine a couple of different motifs that represented the analog musical aspects of DJing/production with a bit of an occult vibe. In the end, we wound up with the bottom half of the circle styled as a vinyl record “buried” under a lonely mountain with a crescent moon overhead. The series of discs in the sky imply a clock face, with the strange gnomon acting as overlapping hands to represent midnight.
